In late 2019, the idea had begun to create a new business model that would revolutionize the way business was done with a planned release in Spring 2021. In March 2020, COVID-19 changed everything.

The world shutdown and the lockdowns began to activate companies responding to the crisis by:

  1. Close the doors of every site until the pandemic subsided.
  2. Send business-critical people home with computers to keep basic operations running.
  3. ] Analyzing which locations were low or unprofitable and closing them permanently.
  4. Pay salaries for the first 30 days and see what happens when you cut staff by the hour and have them apply for unemployment until they are hired again.
  5. Leadership discusses what state and federal support they can get right away and when to apply for.

Does this all sound familiar? Yes that's right.

As business owners and business leaders, we invest enormous amounts of time, energy and resources (usually money) to build a business of our dreams with the types of people who run it who are our twins in every way. way. While we are not really twins, we find people who can perform at a high level of excellence and help us build our dream business. We know that there are many reasons why this scenario never materializes and that list is quite long.

At some point the emergency subsides and you start to rebuild what you have lost in both income and assets / labor. Temporary employment agencies are called upon to provide fast labor and lower costs than hiring.

Wall Street or a government agency declares that the crisis is over and the company returns to & # 39; normal & # 39; or to previous income levels and the headache of finding talent that has been lost to other businesses starts.

Slowly and over time you will be able to replace lost labor, goods and services and the business will be profitable again until the next emergency arises.

We can all agree that this long-outdated business model is ready for something new. Let's see what that could look like and how easily it works.

Let's first look at human nature and what drives it. Think for a moment, when was the last time you achieved something you were proud of? How were you feeling at the time of the performance? Has anyone looked up to you to acknowledge that achievement? How did "that" feel?

When we accomplish something, we are delighted, confident, and motivated to do it again – right? Turn right! I love to be an achiever!

This is what I have learned over the years as a business leader at different levels of companies.

  1. Achievers Don't Burn Out!
  2. Achievers Don't Get Sick!
  3. Achievers don't complain, but rather motivate others who become achievers!
  4. Achievers Leave the Company!
  5. Employee-related costs are reduced!

Performance Don't Burn Out!

Think of a time when you hated your job and / or the people around you and how that affected both your emotional and physical capacities. For me, the result was that I left the company and the stability it offered me and my family. Other times I was fired by someone who upset me in some way.

Successful Happy Businessman

Achievements Don't Get Sick!

Science has proven that when a person is happy and engaged in positive, restorative work, he is healthier, sleeps enough, eats healthier and contributes to the world around him. Achievers are happy and health-related costs are going down.

Achievers do not complain, but rather are a motivator for others who become achievers!

Achievers are generally proactive in what goes on around them and are therefore far more likely to submit suggestions to make their area more efficient, saving the company huge costs, making both the company and people happier resulting in higher production with existing assets, which also reduces the cost of good.

Achievements Don't Go Away The Company!

Achievers can't wait to get to work every day, and many work towards efficiency at home when the family is sleeping. These people know they are valued and help the business succeed. These people dream of promotions and new opportunities within the company and do not want to leave in any way.

The personnel costs are reduced!

Few or no recorded sick days reduce health insurance premiums, loss of production due to the absence of an employee, and also reduce employee-related insurance costs due to non-injury-related time lost.

we create achievers and what has that to do with a new model?

Consortium is a new model based on setting a vision for the future that is not goal-oriented or timeline-driven and is driven by employees who are concerned with achieving milestones or stops along the way to that vision . As you have seen here, performance will lead to higher revenues, lower costs, not susceptible to interruptions like COVID-19 because no goal or timeline is missed, but rather an adjustment of production and the creation of new streams of income during a pandemic or else an event happens that would otherwise create the scenarios mentioned in the beginning of this article.

In my upcoming book Consortium Business Success Done Right in the Twenty-First Century, I'll show you how a vision can drive success in the 21st century.
