According to the German Society for Nature Photography, the annual general meeting did not vote because of the pandemic of the coronavirus. But for the first time in GDT's history, it was completed online with tremendous support and participation from its members. After the pre-jury procedure, the GDT members chose from 10 images in each of the seven categories. There were 7 categories in which photographers entered: mammals, plants and fungi, other animals, Nature & # 39; s Studio, landscapes and a special category: water. These are the contest winning clicks and these photos are absolutely amazing.

1 "A Hare & # 39; s Dream" by Peter Lindel-Overall Winner

Peter Lindel from Dortmund, Germany received the overall winner's prize with his picture of a European hare – an Olympus OM-D E- M1 III 12 -40 mm kit from the premium partner of the organization, Olympus Europe.

Lindel is passionate about photography and focuses on local and African fauna. The winning image came from a series from the north of Dortmund. GDT explained: “Compared to many international nature photography hotspots, this region has little to offer… (But) Peter Lindel (invested) a lot of time and blood, sweat and tears working on this project on his doorstep. In these times, while everyone is urged to stay at home, the generally classic subject of a hare takes on special significance. It is also a wonderful statement for long-term exploration of a single species and region. ”
